Ronald R. Smith, 78, of Kenton passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020. Ron was born in Kenton on March 31, 1942 to the late Delbert and Ivah (Bailey) Smith. On October 15, 1983, Ron married Betty Jo Wright and she survives, along with children: Bill (Bev) Smith of Marion, Brenda (Dave) Biggs of AZ, Geral (Darel) Scott of Forest, Ann Smith of Marion, Terry (Sally) Smith of Ada, Diana (Ron) Scott of Kenton, David Smith of Kenton, Loretta (Carl-deceased) Joseph of Kenton, and Elizabeth (Brian) Wolgamot of Kenton; 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughters: Michelle Smith Dunson and Glenda Williams. Ron worked for many years at Durez Corporation and was also a barber. He served 2 terms on Kenton City Council and was a member of the Moose Lodge and Harley Owners Group. Ron enjoyed traveling, jokes, pranks, and giving everyone a nickname. He loved his motorcycle, his truck, and camping in Michigan. A private family service will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, and burial will follow in Grove Cemetery.
