printable version

After a short illness, Robert Wayne Eikenbary of Kenton passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at his residence at the age of 50. Rob leaves behind his wife, Rozina; their sons, Jacob and Noah; his brother, Kevin (Kelly) Eikenbary; his nephews, Garrett and Chase Eikenbary, and in-laws, Randy and Margie Stackhouse. Rob was born on May 9, 1970 in Lima, Ohio to the late Robert D. and Donna R. (Riling) Eikenbary. He grew up in Dola and graduated in 1989 from Hardin Northern. On June 19, 1993, Rob married Rozina M. Green and they spent 27 years together raising their sons. He was previously employed by Kenton Structural and Triumph Thermal Systems. Rob was currently employed as the maintenance supervisor at Golden Giant, Inc. He also was the owner of Classic Trophy and Engraving. Rob was a devoted husband and father. He welcomed many of his son's friends into his home and enjoyed cooking for his family. Rob was especially proud of Jacob's mechanical ability. He was looking forward to watching Noah wrestle at the collegiate level. Rob was always helping behind the scenes with whatever project Rozina was working on. He volunteered coaching midget football and was the Cubmaster for Pack 121. He was a member of the Kenton Moose #428 and St. John's Evangelical Church. Rob enjoyed camping at Indian Lake during the summer and was affectionately known as "Popcorn Rob" at Frosty's Campground. During the sport season, he could be heard yelling at the coaches and referees or arguing with his friends about last night's game. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Kenton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the funeral home with Rev. Randall Forester officiating. Burial will follow in Dola Cemetery. Even though we didn’t know Rob very well, we did know him as Popcorn Ron. We will keep you family in our hearts & prayers.

Where I have gone I am not so small. My soul is as wide as the world is tall. I have gone to answer the call, the call of the one who takes care of us all. Where you look you will find me there. In the heart of a rose. In the heart of a prayer. On butterfly wings, of wings of my own. To youI I am gone. But I’m never alone....I am home.

I was shocked to hear about Rob’s passing. He is gone too soon. He was one of my first graders back at Hardin Northern. I have not seen him for many years, but I remember a very kind boy back in those early years. He will be missed.

Rozina, Jacob and Noah,
Each of you have our condolences! Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you! I loved my little Robbie, he was my little guy! He would come to the house in the mornings come in and jump on my bed to get me up! I would carry him to the post office on my shoulders and we spent a lot of time together! I really enjoyed that time and so did he! I never forgot how special he was to me! I didn't get to see him mush after I got married but enjoyed seeing him at my mom's funeral! He told me he didn't like Howard when we got married because he took me away from him! I will never forget that either! He was a very special guy and will be missed greatly by many people which means he was a very special person to many people. May his memory of the special times you spent together help you get through all of this! And carry you through until you are together again!
God be with each one of you!
Love Cheryl and Howard

It's been many years since Rob and I were in Sunday School and Youth Group together. My dad was the Eikenbary's pastor, and we had many wonderful times in church and at their home in Dola. I remember well Rob's laugh and how we both enjoyed arguing about things - all in good fun and love. My heart goes out to you all, and I look forward to a time in heaven when we will see Rob, and Bob & Donna, and so many of the old CBC gang again.

Sincerely,
Jeremy
