Ethel Mae Montgomery, 96 of Lakeway, TX and formerly of Kenton passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020. She was born in Hardin County on June 5, 1924 to the late Frank and Elfa (Pemberton) Gatchell. Ethel married Max Leroy Montgomery on March 5, 1944 and he preceded her in death on January 26, 1999. She was a 1942 graduate of Bellefontaine High School and worked as an LPN at Hardin Memorial Hospital for 38 years. Surviving are three daughters; Barbara (Ron) Morrison of Dawsonville, GA, Betsy (Tom) Sapienza of Austin, TX and Becky (Jeff) Endsley of Savanna, GA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Molly (David) Morris, Michael (Becky) Morrison, Sarah (Jeff) Beauregard, Shaun Steiner, Elliott (Amanda) Endsley, Jordan (Becky) Endsley, Brandon Endsley and eight great grandchildren. Ethel was preceded in death by her brothers; Russell and Donald Gatchell and sister, Avonelle Call. She was a member of Silver Creek Methodist Church and served as a volunteer at both Hardin Memorial Hospital and Kenton City Schools. A private family graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Norman Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Ethel to the Max Montgomery Scholarship Fund at Kenton High School. Arrangements have been entrusted to the SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
